FAQ — Laser Hair Removal, Cryo Body Contouring, Brazilian Wax & Facials | Celtic Spa, Attleboro MA

Question 1

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Accepted Answer

Most clients need 6–8 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal results. Hair grows in cycles, and laser treatment is most effective during the active growth phase. Factors like hair color, skin tone, and the treatment area can influence the number of sessions needed.

Question 2

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Accepted Answer

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap, similar to a rubber band against the skin. Discomfort is minimal and brief. We use advanced technology designed to maximize comfort, and the feeling varies depending on the treatment area and individual sensitivity.

Question 3

How should I prepare for my laser hair removal appointment?

Accepted Answer

Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading for at least 4 weeks prior, as the laser targets the hair root. Stay out of the sun and avoid self-tanner for 2 weeks before treatment. Come in with clean, product-free skin.

Question 4

What areas can be treated with laser hair removal?

Accepted Answer

We treat virtually any area of the body, including legs, underarms, bikini and Brazilian, back, chest, face, and upper lip. During your consultation, Kate will assess your skin and hair type to recommend the best treatment plan for your specific needs.

Question 5

How long does my hair need to be for a wax?

Accepted Answer

Hair should be at least ¼ inch long — roughly the length of a grain of rice — for the wax to grip effectively. If you've been shaving, wait about 2–3 weeks before your appointment. Avoid trimming too short before you come in.

Question 6

What should I expect after a Brazilian wax?

Accepted Answer

Some redness and sensitivity in the treated area is completely normal and typically subsides within a few hours. Avoid tight clothing, hot baths, saunas, and exercise for 24 hours after your wax. Exfoliate gently starting 48 hours post-wax to help prevent ingrown hairs.

Question 7

How often should I get waxed?

Accepted Answer

Most clients return every 3–6 weeks depending on their hair growth cycle. With regular waxing, hair often grows back finer and sparser over time, making each session more comfortable and results longer-lasting.

Question 8

What facial is right for my skin type?

Accepted Answer

During your first visit, Kate will assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate treatment. Whether you're dealing with acne, hyperpigmentation, dryness, or signs of aging, we offer targeted facials and advanced treatments tailored to your specific concerns. We use Environ Skin Care products, which are vitamin A-based and clinically proven.

Question 9

How often should I get a facial?

Accepted Answer

For general maintenance and healthy skin, a facial every 4–6 weeks aligns with your skin's natural renewal cycle. If you're targeting a specific concern like acne or hyperpigmentation, Kate may recommend a more frequent schedule initially.

Question 10

What is Environ Skin Care?

Accepted Answer

Environ is a South African skincare brand founded by plastic surgeon Dr. Des Fernandes. It's built around vitamin A (retinol) and antioxidants, which are clinically proven to support healthy, resilient skin. We use Environ products in our advanced facial treatments and carry them for home care.

Question 11

What is a cryo body treatment?

Accepted Answer

Cryo body treatments use controlled cooling technology to target and reduce stubborn fat cells in specific areas of the body. The cold temperature causes fat cells to crystallize and break down naturally — a process called cryolipolysis — while leaving surrounding skin and tissue unharmed. Results appear gradually over 6–12 weeks as the body flushes out the treated cells.

Question 12

What is Cryo Neck Sculpting and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

Cryo Neck Sculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that targets the submental area — commonly called a double chin or neck fat. Using precise cooling applicators, the treatment freezes and eliminates fat cells beneath the chin and along the neck without surgery, needles, or downtime. At Celtic Spa, our Cryo Neck Sculpting package includes 4 sessions for $750, designed to deliver visible, progressive results.

Question 13

Is cryo body contouring safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cryolipolysis is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat reduction method with a well-established safety profile. The technology selectively targets fat cells, which are more sensitive to cold than surrounding skin, nerves, and muscle tissue. At Celtic Spa, treatments are performed by Kate, a licensed aesthetician with extensive training in advanced body treatments.

Question 14

How many cryo sessions do I need to see results?

Accepted Answer

Most clients see noticeable improvement after 2–4 sessions, with full results visible at 8–12 weeks as the body naturally eliminates the treated fat cells. Our Cryo Neck Sculpting package is structured as 4 sessions to deliver optimal, lasting contouring results. Individual results vary based on the treatment area and starting point.

Question 15

What does a cryo treatment feel like?

Accepted Answer

During the first few minutes you'll feel an intense cold sensation and mild pressure from the applicator. As the area numbs, most clients find the treatment comfortable enough to relax, read, or use their phone. After the session, the treated area is briefly massaged to help break down the crystallized fat cells. There is no pain during recovery.

Question 16

Is there any downtime after a cryo body treatment?

Accepted Answer

There is no downtime with cryo body contouring. You can return to normal activities immediately after your appointment. Some clients experience temporary redness, mild swelling, or tingling in the treated area for a few hours, which resolves on its own. There are no restrictions on exercise, diet, or daily routine following treatment.

Question 17

Who is a good candidate for cryo body contouring?

Accepted Answer

Cryo body contouring is ideal for clients who are close to their target weight but have localized pockets of stubborn fat that don't respond to diet and exercise — such as a double chin, neck fat, or small body areas. It is not a weight-loss treatment. During your consultation, Kate will assess your goals and confirm whether cryo is the right approach for your specific concerns.

Question 18

How is cryo body contouring different from liposuction?

Accepted Answer

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that physically removes fat through incisions and requires anesthesia, recovery time, and carries surgical risks. Cryo body contouring is entirely non-invasive — no needles, no incisions, no anesthesia, and no recovery period. Results develop more gradually than surgery, but the treatment is safe, comfortable, and requires no time away from daily life.
